A few people have notified Wisconsin Ice VBC that they are unable to attend the Tryouts for the 13s & 14s on October 7, 2018 and were asking if there is a possible make-up date for those players.

While it is to a player’s advantage to attend the Tryouts to be evaluated with their peers, Wisconsin Ice will have a make-up session for those players who absolutely cannot make their scheduled age group tryout session on Monday, October 8, 2018, from 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm at the Stevens Point Recreation Center located at 2442 Sims Avenue in Stevens Point. This facility is located to the north of the PJ Jacobs Junior High School parking lot.

If you will be attending the make-up session in lieu of your age group’s scheduled tryout time, then please include a note with your registration forms to that affect, so that we can plan accordingly. Also, please send an e-mail message to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to let us know that your daughter will be attending the make-up session. This way, we can better plan the format for the make-up session.

Wisconsin Ice VBC will be hosting "Tune-Ups" again this year to help prepare players for the Tryouts on November 16 & 17, 2013. The Tune-Ups will be held at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School, 601 Maple Ridge Road, Mosinee, Wisconsin 54455, in the gymnasium on three consecutive Sunday evenings beginning on October 27, 2013, after the Parent & Potential Player Informational Meeting and question period. The focus of the Tune-Ups will be to help prepare players for the Tryouts through group drills with some emphasis on actual drills that will be conducted during the Tryouts.

Wisconsin Ice VBC is offering three Tune-Up Sessions to help potential players hone their volleyball skills and build their confidence level in preparation for the Tryouts.

There will be one (1) Tune-Up Session for the 13s and 14s level players as follows:

  • Sunday, September 30 – 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Stevens Point Area YMCA gymnasium (1000 Division Street, Stevens Point, WI 54481)
  • Please note that younger players that would normally be on a Chips team are welcome to join these sessions if they will also be trying out for the 13s age group in addition to attending their All Call for the Chips program.

There will be two (2) Tune-Up Sessions for the 15s through 18s level players as follows that are being offered to help potential players for Wisconsin Ice prepare for the upcoming Tryouts that will be held on November 10, 2018:

  • Sunday, October 28 – 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School in Mosinee (601 Maple Ridge Road, Mosinee 54455)
  • Sunday, November 4 – 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School in Mosinee (601 Maple Ridge Road, Mosinee 54455)

These sessions are open to all interested volleyball players.

When You Arrive:

  • Verify your Registration at the check-in table. Please arrive at least ½ hour before your scheduled tryout time. Show your Badger Region/USAV membership card. Get your tryout number and testing sheet.
  • If you did not register in advance (for $30), you will need to complete the Wisconsin Ice VBC Tryout form – 2018, the USAV Medical Release Form, the Concussion Form, and write a check for $40 to “Wisconsin Ice VBC” (includes $10 late fee). If you did not register with the Badger Region/USAV, you will need to register on-line on “Webpoint” and charge on your credit card either the full $50 fee ($15 for Shavings, free for players 8 & under) or the $10 tryout fee. You will also need to print out your membership card and show it as proof that you are registered with the USAV/Badger Region. The Wisconsin Ice VBC fee for the “All Call” for Chips and Shavings is $10 (no late fee).
  • Get your picture taken holding your number in front of you.
  • Pin your tryout number on your back with 4 pins before you enter the gym.
  • Fill in your testing sheet info & then go into the gym to complete the vertical jump & shuttle run testing stations (this does not apply to Shavings).
  • Return your completed testing sheet to the gym monitor or to the person at the computer input table.
  • When your age group is called, go into the gym for the drills and game-like situations for skills assessment.
  • Listen carefully at the conclusion of your tryout session to the Directors. You may get an offer for a spot on a team (13s & 14s) in the gym and if so, you will get a blue card stating your offer that you must complete –or- you may be told that you need to wait for a telephone call or an e-mail message as to where you fall in the tryout hierarchy.

Your membership fees for Wisconsin Ice VBC are not sufficient to cover all of the costs associated with the Club, so we will need all of the players to participate in the fundraiser for the 2015 season to help keep the membership fees low.

There are two remaining optional Tune-Up Sessions as follows that are being offered to help potential players for Wisconsin Ice prepare for the upcoming Tryouts that will be held on November 12 & 13:

  • Sunday, October 30 – 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School in Mosinee (601 Maple Ridge Road, Mosinee 54455)
  • Sunday, November 6 – 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Greenheck Field House in Weston (6400 Alderson Street, Weston 54476)

These sessions are for players that will be playing on the 13s through 18s age groups for the upcoming season.

The $10 fee for each session must be paid at the door before the session begins. Checks should be written to “Wisconsin Ice VBC”.

For those Wisconsin Ice VBC players that are looking for more individualized attention in addition to the three (3)Tune-Up sessions, Taryn Vaughn will be offering sixteen (16) skill specific sessions in late October and early November as shown in the flyer. Each session is limited to 10 to 18 players and the sessions typically fill quickly, so contact Taryn Vaughn soon if you are interested in these sessions.

Taryn will be present at the Parent & Potential Player Informational Meeting on Sunday, so if you do not contact her before the meeting, you can talk with her or register for these sessions at that time. Please be aware that these are not the Tune-Up sessions that are offered by Wisconsin Ice VBC and your registration and payment for the Tune-Up sessions should be done at the table at the entrance to the gym before the Tune-Up sessions.

Flyer/Sign-up Sheet

Thank you to everyone that attended the Parent & Potential Player Informational Meeting on Sunday, October 25, in the afternoon at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School. It was a packed house.

For those of you who were unable to attend the Informational Meeting, included with this article (at the end of this article) is the PowerPoint presentation that was shown during the meeting. If you have any questions after reading the PowerPoint presentation, please e-mail your questions to Jay Johnson at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

The PowerPoint presentation had an error in it regarding the Tryouts schedule for Sunday, November 15. The 17s/18s tryout, including the 18 National team, is scheduled for 1:30-4:00 pm and the tryouts for the 16s, including the 16 National team, will run from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm. The times were presented erroneously in the PowerPoint presentation. These times should match the times that were posted last week for the Tryouts for the weekend of November 14 & 15.

Many parents volunteered for the Spirit Wear Coordinator position this year after the need for someone to take on this position for the 2016 season was announced during the Informational Meeting. We are thankful that there were so many people interested in helping the Club. The Spirit Wear Coordinator position this year will be in the capable hands of Tammy King.

The first Tune-Up session last Sunday evening was very well attended. Please keep in mind that there will be two more Tune-Up sessions to help players prepare for the Tryouts before the Tryouts weekend. The next session will be held this Sunday, November 1, from 4:30-6:30 pm, at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School. The last Tune-Up session is scheduled for November 8, from 5:30-7:30 pm in the Greenheck Fieldhouse in Weston.

Please remember to complete the registration forms for the Tryouts weekend and send them with your payment check to Kent Thomas. The detailed steps for registering for Tryouts are posting on this Home Page.

PowerPoint Presentation

Step 1

Register with Badger Region Volleyball Association/USA Volleyball on Webpoint (Registering on WebPoint is not registering for Wisconsin Ice VBC Tryouts)

You must first register with Badger Region/USA Volleyball by following the steps on-line at Webpoint, https://webpoint.usavolleyball.org. (It is probably easier to access Webpoint through the Badger Region Volleyball website, badgervolleyball.org. Once on the Badger Region Volleyball website, you should click on the "MEMBERSHIP" tab on the right end of the tab selections. Then click on the "About Registration" tab. Toward the bottom of the "About Registration" article, click on "here" in the sentence, "To register for a Badger Region membership, click here" and follow the prompts for the member option that applies to you.) This includes filling in the membership information and paying the Badger Region/USAV full member fee of $50 (or $15 Youth Membership for the Shavings Program or Free for 8 years & younger) or the Badger Region/USAV $10 tryout fee on "Webpoint". You will be required to have a credit card to pay this fee online and you will need to print your membership card after you have registered. If you are not sure that you will make it on a team or if you are not sure that you will be playing Club volleyball, then only pay the $10 tryout fee and then you can upgrade your membership and pay the additional $40 at a later date if you do play on a team. The Badger Region will not refund the difference if you pay the full fee and then do not play on a team! Do not pick Wisconsin Ice VBC as your team yet unless you know for sure that you will be playing on a Wisconsin Ice team for the 2015 season. You will do this later after you have been offered a spot on a team and you have accepted the offer.

Please remember that this is registration with the Badger Region Volleyball Association and not with Wisconsin Ice VBC. This fee goes to the Badger Region/USAV and does not cover any fees for Wisconsin Ice VBC. Any potential player that is trying out for Wisconsin Ice VBC must be registered with the Badger Region before Tryouts and Tune-ups or you will not be allowed to enter the gym for the Tryouts and Tune-Ups. This is a Badger Region Volleyball Association rule. You will be required to print out your membership card and show it when checking in for the Tryouts and Tune-ups for Wisconsin Ice VBC.

Step 2

Register for Wisconsin Ice VBC Tryouts or All Call

To register for Wisconsin Ice VBC Tryouts or All Call, you will be required to send the following (3) forms, which are on the Wisconsin Ice VBC website (www.wisconsinice.net), and your fee to Wisconsin Ice VBC, Kent Thomas, 2241 Heatherton Lane, Plover, WI 54467-2820 (must be received by November 12, 2015, to be eligible for the lower $30 Tryout fee):

Players should sign up and attend the Tryout for the age group that matches their age. If the player chooses to try out at an older age group, then they may pay an additional $30 fee for the 2nd age group for which they would like to try out. If a player is given a formal invitation from a Club Director to attend an additional tryout at an older age group, then the player is not required to pay the additional $30 fee.

If a player has a "bad birthday", then they may try out at either their appropriate age group or the age group of their age level peers or both by paying only one fee. Please place a check mark after "Yes" on the "Wisconsin Ice VBC Tryout Form – 2016" after the question as to whether an age waiver is required. Also fill in the age level or age levels for which you are trying out on the first line of the Wisconsin Ice VBC Tryout Form – 2016.

Please only send the forms that are listed above in this article. Do not send any additional forms that you may have printed off of Webpoint when signing up for your Badger Region/USAV membership.

You will need to bring your current Badger Region/USAV membership card to the Wisconsin Ice Tryouts and Tune-Ups that you printed out from the Badger Region/USAV registration on Webpoint to show when you check in at the registration table; however you will keep this card for your records. It only has to be shown to the people that check you in at the Tryouts or Tune-Ups so that they can confirm that you are registered.

If you sent in your registration early before this information was posted on the Wisconsin Ice VBC website, then please complete and send the correct or missing forms to the address listed in this article.

Informational Meeting for Parents & Potential Players, Coach Meeting, & First Tune-Up Session

The Informational Meeting for Parents & Potential Players for the upcoming 2016 season will be held on Sunday afternoon, October 25, 2015, at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School, 601 Maple Ridge Road, Mosinee, Wisconsin 54455, in the gymnasium.

The Tryouts & Skills Assessment for girls’ 13s-18s and the "All Call" for Ice Chips and Ice Shavings girls and boys for the 2016 season will be held on November 14 & 15, 2015, at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School, 601 Maple Ridge Road, Mosinee, Wisconsin 54455, in the gymnasium.

Players wishing to be involved with Wisconsin Ice VBC in the 13s-18s programs must be present at the Tryouts & Skills Assessment.

The purpose of the "All Call" is to view the potential Chips players in action as they learn volleyball skills with the intention of forming teams with similar athletic skill levels and to view the range of skill levels of the potential Shavings players. Girls and Boys are both welcome at the Chips and Shavings levels.

Thank you to all of the Parents and Potential Players that attended the Parent & Potential Player Informational Meeting on Sunday, 10-26-14. There was a very good crowd for the meeting and many potential players who also attended the first Tune-Up session that was offered that evening.

If you were unable to attend the meeting, you should view the PowerPoint presentation that was shown at the meeting so that you are aware of all of the information for the upcoming season. The presentation is available on this website (see the link at the bottom of this article).

The registration information for Tryouts is now up on the website. Please follow both steps and make sure that your required forms are completely filled out. As stated in step 2 of the Steps for Registration for Wisconsin Ice VBC 2015 Season Tryouts, all three (3) registration forms and your check for Tryouts must be sent to Wisconsin Ice VBC, Kent Thomas, 2241 Heatherton Lane, Plover, WI 54467-2820.

We hope to see you at the Tryouts on the weekend of November 15 & 16, 2014, at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School in Mosinee.

The Volleyball Specialists skills sessions that were offered previously have completely filled. Due to the demand for these sessions, Volleyball Specialists, directed by Taryn Vaughn, will present additional skill specific volleyball sessions as an opportunity to sharpen your skills before club tryouts.

These additional sessions will be held on the evenings of November 3 & November 14, at Greenheck Field House. See the flyer for more specific information and for the registration form.

Flyer/Registration Form

The Wisconsin Ice VBC 2017 Club Season will be starting soon with the Tryouts and All Call scheduled for the weekend of November 12 & 13, 2016. Parents and/or players can begin registering the players for the Tryouts and All Call now following the steps shown in the "Steps for Registration for Wisconsin Ice VBC 2017 Season Tryouts" article shown below; however it might be best to wait until after the Parent & Potential Player Informational Meeting that is scheduled for Sunday, October 23, 2016, to make sure that all of your questions are answered. The Tryouts and All Call registration process will be reviewed at the Informational Meeting. The registration process must be completed by November 10, to avoid a late registration fee.

If players are interested in the Tune-Up Sessions, to help players prepare for the Tryouts, that will be offered on the three consecutive Sundays starting on October 23, after the Informational Meeting, then the players must complete step 1 of the Steps for Registration for the Tryouts before they participate in their first Tune-Up Session. This is your registration with the Badger Region/USA Volleyball and this membership is required before participating in any Badger Region/USAV sanctioned event.

The 2013 Parent & Potential Player Informational Meeting occurred on Sunday, October 21, 2012. Wisconsin Ice VBC Tryouts/Skills Assessment and "All Call" for the 2014 Season

The Tryouts & Skills Assessment for girls’ 13s-18s and the "All Call" for Ice Chips and Ice Shavings girls and boys for the 2014 season will be held on November 16 & 17, 2013, at Wisconsin Valley LutheranHigh School, 601 Maple Ridge Road, Mosinee, Wisconsin 54455, in the gymnasium.

Players wishing to be involved with Wisconsin Ice VBC in the 13s-18s programs must be present at the Tryouts & Skills Assessment.

Wisconsin Ice VBC 2010 Fundraisers

There are two fundraisers that are being coordinated by Wisconsin Ice VBC this year:

  • Ultra Desserts/Wisconsin Cheesecake sale
  • Krueger Red Poinsettia & Norfolk Pine sale.

The only mandatory fundraiser is the Cheesecake Sale. You have two choices with this fundraiser as follows: you must sell a minimum of (8) cheesecakes or you can opt for the $70 buyout. Please do not stop at selling (8) cheesecakes as every cheesecake that you sell helps to keep the membership fees low for Wisconsin Ice.

VERY IMPORTANT!

  1. With each fundraiser, including the buyout, one check (or money order) must be written to "Wisconsin Ice VBC".
  2. No cash or non-Ice member checks will be accepted.
  3. You must write your daughter’s name, team (i.e. 15 Purple, 14 Blue, 16 Black, etc.) and the fundraiser for which you are paying on the memo line on the check for easy reference for bookkeeping purposes.
  4. All order forms and checks should be given to your "Team Parent" by December 6, 2009. The Team Parent will then give the forms for all of the fundraisers and the checks after they have been collected from all of the players on your team to the Fundraiser Coordinator on December 6, 2009.

Cheesecake Sale

Each cheesecake sells for $15 and you must sell a minimum of (8) cheesecakes. There are also packs of 12 wedgees available for $27.00 and pumpkin rolls for $10.00. One (1) wedgee counts as (1) cheesecake toward your minimum sale of (8) cheesecakes and two (2) pumpkin rolls count as (1) cheesecake toward your minimum sales quota. The order forms and the $15 for each cheesecake, $27 for each wedgee pack, & $10 for each pumpkin roll must be given to your team parent by December 6, 2009, and the cheesecakes must be picked up on December 13, 2009, from your "Team Parent" by the player or parent that sold them at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School between 1:00 pm & 3:00 pm.

Again you must write one check to "Wisconsin Ice VBC" for the entire amount of the cost of the cheesecakes that you have sold (at $15.00 per cheesecake, $27 per Wedgee pack & $10 per pumpkin roll).

You are responsible for picking up all of the cheesecakes from Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School and delivering all of the cheesecakes that you sell to your customers. Any cheesecakes that are not paid for in advance will not be ordered. If you cannot pick up the cheesecakes that you ordered on December 13, 2009, then you must arrange to have someone else pick them up for you. We will not return any cheesecakes to Wisconsin Cheesecakes and we will not store any cheesecakes for you.

Poinsettia and Norfolk Pine Sale

6" Red Poinsettia and Norfolk Pine plants are offered this year for $15. The order forms and the $8 ($7 is kept by you to help you defray the cost of your membership fees) per poinsettia plant or Norfolk pine are due by December 6, 2009. You will turn in your order forms and check to your "Team Parent".

This fundraiser is run entirely for your benefit to help you pay for your Ice membership dues. For each plant you sell you must pay $8.00 to Wisconsin Ice and you keep the $7.00 profit for your own benefit. Again you must write one check to Wisconsin Ice VBC for the entire amount of the cost of the plants that you have sold (at $8.00 per plant).

Poinsettias & Norfolk Pine plants should be picked up at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm on December 13, 2009. It is your responsibility to pick up all of the plants that you have sold and to deliver them to your customers. If you cannot pick up the plants that you ordered, you must arrange to have someone else pick them up for you. No plants will be returned to Krueger Floral and no plants will be stored for you.

No cash or checks other than club member checks will be accepted. Checks that are written to Krueger Floral will be returned and the order for those plants will be cancelled.

The powerpoint presentation from our Parent and Potential Player Informational Meeting for the 2011 Wisconsin Ice VBC Season on October 24, 2010 is now available to those who could not attend the meeting.

Presentation

Please begin selling poinsettia and Norfolk pine plants as the main fundraiser for Wisconsin Ice. Remember that all Ice team members must sell a minimum of (10) plants or you must pay the buyout of $70. We ask that you sell many more plants than this to help run Wisconsin Ice for your benefit. You can also begin selling pizzas and kringles if you choose to do this optional fundraiser for your own benefit.

Wisconsin Ice VBC will be sponsoring an optional fundraiser for the 2017 season for those players that need financial assistance to pay their membership fees. Only Wisconsin Ice VBC Players, who have paid their membership fees in full or who are on an approved payment plan, and their parents are able to participate in the optional Pizza Fundraiser that will be administered by Wisconsin Ice VBC for the 2017 season to assist you with paying your membership fees.

Portesi Pizza will be assisting Wisconsin Ice with the fundraiser this season. The Fundraiser Administrator for this Wisconsin Ice 2017 optional fundraiser will be Jay Johnson. Jay will collect your pizza orders with one personal check written to “Wisconsin Ice VBC” on December 11, 2016, 2:00-4:00 pm, at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School in Mosinee. No third party checks will be accepted. Your orders must be hand delivered to Jay Johnson during the assigned time period at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School. Do not give your order to your Team Parent, Coaches, or Directors. It must be given directly to Jay.

Tryouts & Skills Assessment & All Call Schedule

Please arrive 30-45 minutes before your scheduled tryout time to complete the registration process. Please note that Ice Tryouts and Skills Assessment is a sanctioned event. Only registered participants are allowed in the gymnasium.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Parent and Potential Player Informational Meeting last Sunday, October 21, at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School. There was very good attendance at the meeting and we saw a lot of interest in the upcoming Wisconsin Ice VBC Tryouts on the weekend of November 10 & 11, at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School. There were a lot of new faces in the crowd. After the meeting the first Tune-Up Clinic for Tryouts was held and there were several players that took advantage of this opportunity to hone their volleyball skills and to get tips for a successful tryout.

Please follow the steps to register for tryouts:

Parents and potential players that are interested in trying out for the Wisconsin Ice VBC 2017 season can attend the Parent & Potential Player Informational Meeting that will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School in Mosinee from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A general question and answer session will follow from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm to ask any questions you might still have about Wisconsin Ice after the presentation. There will also be an opportunity from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm to ask questions one-on-one with the Directors of Wisconsin Ice.

After the Informational Meeting, the first optional Tune-Up Session of the three sessions will be held from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School to help players prepare for the Tryouts. There is more information regarding these Tune-Up Sessions in an earlier article on this website home page.

All players and coaches in the gym during the Tune-Up Sessions must be members of Badger Region/USAV. If you played for a Badger Region/USAV volleyball club last season, then your membership is still valid until the end of October, so you would not need to renew your membership until the third Tune-Up Session. If you did not participate with a Club last season, then you must register on Webpoint before participating in your first Tune-Up Session. Please see the article that explains the steps for registration for Wisconsin Ice VBC 2017 Season Tryouts in an article on this home page for more information on how to register for your membership with Badger Region/USAV.

You must print out and bring your Badger Region/USAV membership card with you to show at the registration table when you sign up at the door for the Tune-Up Sessions.

The 2011 Wisconsin Ice VBC Season Opener Tournament will be Sunday, January 9, 2011.

Thank you to all who attended the Parent & Potential Player Informational Meeting on Sunday, October 25, 2009. There was a full house. We apologize for the poor rendition of the power point presentation on the screen. The power point presentation that was shown at the meeting is now on our website under the "Informational Meeting" tab. You can review any information that was not seen clearly at the meeting. To those who were unable to attend the meeting, please review the power point presentation and hopefully this will clear up any questions that you may have regarding Wisconsin Ice.

We thank all of the Parents and Players that attended the Parent & Potential Player Informational Meeting last Sunday, October 23. There was a full house with many eager, new faces in the audience. For those of you that were unable to attend the meeting, you can review the PowerPoint presentation on this website that was shown at the meeting to learn about all of the programs that Wisconsin Ice will be offering for the 2017 season.

There also was a very good showing at the first Tune-Up session that evening with over 60 players eagerly preparing for the upcoming Tryouts that will be held on the weekend of November 12 & 13, 2016. The schedule for the Tryouts is listed in the PowerPoint presentation that was shown at the Informational Meeting. There should also be an earlier article on the Wisconsin Ice website homepage with the Tryouts schedule.

Parent & Athlete Agreement Related to Concussion Law 2011 – Wisconsin Act 172 (read the Wisconsin Concussions Fact Sheets for Athletes and Parents before signing this form)

When You Arrive:

  • Verify your Registration at the check-in table. Please arrive at least ½ hour before your scheduled tryout time. Get your tryout number and testing sheet.
  • If you did not register in advance (for $30), you will need to complete the Wisconsin Ice VBC Tryout form - 2013, the USAV Medical Release Form, the Concussion Form, and write a check for $40 to "Wisconsin Ice VBC" (includes $10 late fee). If you did not register with the Badger Region/USAV, you will need to register online on "Webpoint" and charge on your credit card either the full $47 fee ($15 for Shavings) or the $10 tryout fee. You will also need to print out your membership card as proof that you are registered with the USAV/Badger Region.
  • Get your picture taken holding your number in front of you.
  • Pin your tryout number on your back with 4 pins before you enter the gym.
  • Fill in your testing sheet info & then go into the gym to complete the vertical jump & shuttle run testing stations.
  • Return your completed testing sheet to the gym monitor or the computer input person.
  • When your age group is called, go into the gym for the drills and game-like situations for skills assessment.
  • Listen carefully at the conclusion of your tryout session to the Directors. You may get an offer for a spot on a team in the gym and if so, you will get a card stating your offer or you may be told that you need to wait for a telephone call or an e-mail message as to where you fall in the tryout hierarchy.

After Your Tryout or "All Call" Session:

  • After you are dismissed from the gym, return your tryout number and your pins to the registration desk for the next age group to use!!!!
  • Sign up for your uniform and warm-up shirt sizes even if you don’t know if you made a team yet.
  • Take the fundraiser information if you don’t have it already. Fundraiser forms and payments are due to your team parent on December 2, 2012.
  • Look at the Spirit Wear & mark your order form with the items that you would like to purchase and take the form home with you. This is the only place where Ice spirit wear will be displayed. Spirit wear order forms and your check are due to your team parent on December 2, 2012. Hottie Warm-ups can be purchased at the Tryouts.

After You Leave the Tryout & "All Call" Facility:

  • Wait for a telephone call or an e-mail message for an "offer" if you were not given an offer at the tryouts. Please be patient as teams are formed. The top performers at tryouts are offered first and they have until Thursday, November 15, 2012 (Tuesday, November 13 if you were a member of Wisconsin Ice last season), at 9:01 pm to accept the offer. If everyone above you accepts or declines their offer right away, then you will get an offer sooner. This does not apply to Ice Chips & Ice Shavings players.
  • After the first deadline for offers expires, another offer may be given to some players and if so, their new deadline is Monday, November 19, 2012, at 6:00 pm. So you see that there is a window of about a week and a half after the tryouts before everyone is contacted about playing on a team.
  • The first practice for all teams is on Sunday, November 25, 2012. Your membership fee check written to "Wisconsin Ice VBC" is due before the first practice along with your Handbook agreement form (page 15 of the Handbook) signed by both you and your parents. Both of these should be mailed to Wisconsin Ice VBC, Jay Johnson, 2501 Springville Drive, Plover, WI 54467. Please contact the Directors if your financial situation requires a payment plan.
  • The 13s & 14s age groups will practice together at each age level for a few practices before the teams are divided into Purple, Black and White. At these younger age levels we choose to evaluate the players further in practice situations to view them in a more relaxed environment than the tryouts and to gauge their attitude and hustle. The 15s through 18s players will be assigned to teams before their first practice. White teams will only be offered if there are enough players to complete a team and if there are enough coaches to staff these teams. In rare cases this may apply to Black teams as well.
  • Please be patient (and as cool as "Ice") throughout the tryouts and offering period. We assure you that we move the process as fast as we can based on the timing of the answers that we receive from the players that are offered a spot on a team. If you are offered a spot on a team, please respond to this offer as quickly as possible because other players are waiting for their offer based on your response to your offer.
  • Thank you for trying out for Wisconsin Ice VBC. We wish you a fun and educational season with Ice!
