What to do Now That You Have Accepted an Offer to Play on a WI Ice Team or if you are Going to Play in the Chips or Shavings Programs
Thank you to all of the players and coaches that participated in the Wisconsin Ice VBC Tryouts and All Call last weekend. We had a great showing in both numbers and talent-wise.
If you have been given an "Offer" to play on an Ice team and you have accepted it or if you are going to play for the Wisconsin Ice VBC Chips or Shavings programs for the 2014 season, then there are several things that you need to do before your first practice, which is scheduled for December 1, 2013, for all Ice teams/players. Please see the list below.
We are still evaluating whether we have enough coaches and players to form a 14 Blue and a 15 Blue team. That decision should be made this weekend and if we will be running these teams this season, "Offers" will be sent out by e-mail this weekend.
In order to fully accept an offer to play on a Wisconsin Ice Purple, Black or Blue team, play on a White team, or participate in the Chips or Shavings programs you must do the following:
- Notify a Director that you accept an "Offer" in person, by phone, or by e-mail message that was given to you at the Tryouts or by phone or e-mail message in the week following the Tryouts.
- Mail back your blue Offer card, if you received one, to Wisconsin Ice VBC, Jay Johnson, 2501 Springville Drive, Plover, WI 54467.
- Upgrade your Badger Region/USAV membership on Webpoint to the "Full Regular Membership" in order to play or participate with Wisconsin Ice VBC. You will need to upgrade your membership to the full $50 Junior Membership if you previously only purchased a one-event or tryout membership for $10. This upgrade is offered on Webpoint for $40. If you did not previously register on Webpoint, then you will need to pay the Full $50 Regular Junior Membership. The players that are participating in the Ice Shavings program only need to purchase the "Youth Membership" for $15. If your daughter or son is participating in the Ice Shavings program and is 8 years old or under, then their Badger Region/USAV membership on Webpoint is free; however you will still need to register them on Webpoint for your Badger Region/USAV membership. If you need guidance on how to access Webpoint or how to register or upgrade your membership, then please visit the Badger Region website at badgerregionvolleyball.org website for more information.
- When you are in Webpoint purchasing your Badger Region/USAV membership or upgrading your membership, you must select "Wisconsin Ice VBC" as your club; otherwise you will not show up in the Wisconsin Ice VBC Webpoint member list and we will not be able to add you to your team.
The first practice for all Wisconsin Ice VBC team players and programs will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2013. The schedule for that practice with your time and facility location will be posted on the Wisconsin Ice VBC website in a couple of days as we are able to secure the sites. The December practice schedule will be posted on the Wisconsin Ice website as soon as all of the teams have been completely formed and the practice facilities have been secured.
The first tournament for all of the Wisconsin Ice VBC teams, with the exception of the 18 White team, will be our own Wisconsin Ice VBC-sponsored Season Opener tournament on Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Stevens Point, Auburndale, and Waupaca sites.
We have an exceptional coaching staff this season and a high amount of player talent. We look forward to a great season and we wish you a fun and educational experience season with Wisconsin Ice VBC.
